Government guidelines stipulate that a “certified translation” should be done by a member of a professional body, such as the Chartered Institute of Linguists.

Members of the CIOL are qualified language practitioners with extensive experience in their discipline. Their code of conduct provides clients with an assurance of high standards of professionalism.

Having passed the Diploma in Translation in 2010, I am certified to translate birth, marriage and death certificates as well as academic transcripts and other legal documentation.

What is a certified translation?

A certified translation is the translation of an official document accompanied with a certification by a professional translator. The certification is presented in the form of a cover letter with a signature and written statement attesting that the translation is a true and faithful rendering of the source language.

Once certified, your translated document will be available for official use with government and other bodies.

If you have an official document in Spanish that requires translation and certification before it can be presented to UK authorities, then please get in touch.
